With the launch of the GTA V trailer hitting the web today most major video game sites have begun a delicate dissection of this trailer.  I have watched it at least a good 15 times already and find something new each time.  While I could speculate about how there is a dog, a blimp flying overhead, or even the return of what seems to be the muscle beach from San Andreas; one particular sequence of this trailer excited me more than the others.  That sequence is a close up of what could be our main character and his striking resemblance to that of a one Tommy Vercetti from one of my favorite GTAs, Vice City.

Looks awfully familiar to me

GTA V seems to be set in contemporary times so it really wouldn’t be too farfetched for Mr. Vercetti to be wrapping up his life of crime and settling down somewhere far away from Vice City (like the opposite coast).  If it is Tommy he would probably be pushing late 50s or early 60s so he is probably looking to cut back or cut out his gun toting shenanigans.  Can you really walk away from a life of crime though?  Most crime related narratives seem to say no and think not, so it will be interesting to see how close our main character comes to attaining his dream of a normal life.  I am unsure whether or not I will find something as intriguing as this part of the trailer, but if I feel compelled to over speculate about something else you all will be the first to know.

Are you making a triumphant return Mr. Vercetti?

We have already asked this, but what do you think about the trailer?  Did it live up to or exceed your expectations?  Did it let you down?  Let us know your thoughts in the comments section and also let us know if you too found anything interesting or subliminal about the GTA V trailer.  As always you can follow us on Twitter @GamersAbstract and like us on Facebook for more content.

I just watched the Grand Theft Auto V reveal trailer live on IGN and was I blown away.  I saw a lot more than I expected to be honest.  GTA V looks to be returning to a fictional California with Los Santos as it’s focal point.  I don’t want to keep you from this so enjoy the GTA V trailer reveal here at TGA, enjoy (thanks to YouTube user Gamertronic).

To get excited for the forthcoming Grand Theft Auto V trailer launching today (which we will have up once it premieres), we are throwing up some oldies but goodies.  For your viewing pleasure here are some pieces of game footage and trailers for earlier entries in the GTA franchise, enjoy.

We hope you are as excited as us now for GTA V and we also hope this was a worthwhile trip down memory lane, so stay tuned for the GTA V trailer reveal later today.  As always follow us on Twitter @GamersAbstract and like us on Facebook for more content.

After many months of speculation and many publications crafting wishlists; Grand Theft Auto V has been announced by Rockstar.  The official GTA website has just a mammoth image of GTA V and a release date for the first trailer which is November 2nd of this year.  Even with only a single image being surfaced speculation continues to run rampant, but this time we here at TGA will partake in said speculation and we request your help too.

What do you make of this?

The classic Grand Theft Auto font remains intact, but the five is what is really driving us up the wall over here at TGA.  What is the significance of the green in the “V”?  Will that signify the location of the next title?  Why is there a roman numeral and the word “five”?  What time period will the game take place in?  So many questions and far fewer answers (none really).  What are your reactions to this announcement?  Are you excited for the release trailer next week?  Let us know in the comments section and as always stay tuned for more and follow us on Twitter @GamersAbstract and like us on Facebook for more content.
