In June of 2000, gamers the world over were introduced to something, that at the time was just a Dreamcast game, but would later be revered as a transition for the medium.  Gravitating away from just being simply entertainment, but being appreciated as an art form; Jet Set Radio was that turning point and to this day remains one of the most important games released on any platform–and also the main reason why you should play it.

JET SET RADIO!!!!  That’s right folks Jet Grind Radio and all the funk that accompanies it will be rolling out to XBLA and PSN this summer in glorious HD.  Sega had announced this last week and confirmed it this week so all JGR fans can rejoice.  JGR is one of my favorite games of all time so I am really excited for this game to hit both marketplaces (HD+Trophies/Achievements+Already Awesome= More Awesome).  The game is said to have the same amazing soundtrack and will have new graffiti for players to perform all over Neo-Tokyo in this HD release.  If you missed this game on the Dreamcast definitely check it out for your system of choice.  Also if you were part of the majority that didn’t like or wanted something different from Sega’s last Dreamcast effort this generation (the DC Collection) support this game when it releases and get Sega to bring more of our favorite titles to the current gen systems (or completely new iterations).  Keep your eyes out for Jet Grind Radio come summer time and as always you can follow us on Twitter @GamersAbstract and like us on Facebook for more content.

Binary Domain looks incredible

Since I am currently unable to report my own TGS coverage I have been looking amongst what is already out there.  I haven’t seen a terrible amount of coverage (been kind of busy) but what I did see that really caught my eye was some footage of Sega’s upcoming futuristic shooter Binary Domain and was I ever impressed.

The shooter looks like an amalgamation of Gears of War and Terminator (which both rock).  Frenetic shootouts with robots to protect humanity from something that we don’t quite know yet mixed with cover based tactics.  The visuals were also super impressive.  Even though it is still early and with the TGS trailer and other mini videos just debuting I am pretty much sold on this.  So Sega keep it together and you will have something on your hands that will be pretty fascinating to play, but also might start a promising franchise.

I could keep talking about how awesome Binary Domain looks but I’d rather show you.  So enjoy this trailer and mini video showcase of Binary Domain and comment on what you think or anything else that you think looks sweet from TGS and as always you can get more of me on Twitter @GamersAbstract and on Facebook.

Another day another deal.  Today at Amazon you can score the Dreamcast Collection for Xbox 360 for $19.99.  At this price is not a bad deal because it includes 4 Dreamcast classics (Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, Sega Bass Fishing, and Space Channel 5 Part 2) for about $5 a pop.  So if you are a Dreamcast enthusiast today is your lucky day.  Head on over to Amazon from this link to get your copy.  Happy shopping.

This is the first trade-in deal I have ever posted and I probably won’t do it often (unless it is something dynamite).  I just thought today’s deal was particularly awesome and a bit peculiar.  If you agree to trade-in your Sega Dreamcast today at Amazon they will give you a $40 dollar gift card (Amazon is only giving $40 for a 20GB Xbox 360).  Pretty sweet right.  I am all for anything Dreamcast and maybe the DC is making a huge comeback and getting that recognition it finally deserves.  I will not be parting with Dreamcast, but If you feel like being a heretic or just a huge bag of suck then you can offload it for 40 big ones.  Here is the link, go if you dare.
