May 15th and Threes

If you haven’t heard already, May 15th is shaping up to be a pretty happening day for video games, but in particular third entries.  Max Payne 3 was pushed back from its original release date of March 6th to May 15th and some semi popular Blizzard PC game called Diablo 3 was announced to be released the same day.  Both games are very different, but lets hope one doesn’t derail the other.

Don't do me dirty Diablo 3

While both games are sure to crush it at retail I can only hope that because of Diablo 3’s newly announced release date Max Payne 3 does not get pushed back again.  I know Rockstar pushed back Max Payne 3 to polish it further, but its previous release date coincided with the release of Mass Effect 3, which wasn’t an opponent you wanted to battle at the checkout counter.  Mass Effect 3 is an RPG by genre, but I think its action mechanics made it too close of a contender with Max Payne 3 for Rockstar to roll the dice.  Diablo 3 however is a RPG with action elements, but I think there is ample separation between the two titles to make them both appealing day one purchases.

Fingers have been crossed, deep breath has been taken

Diablo 3 is only being released on PC currently so I don’t think it will affect the console sales of Max Payne 3, but let’s hope Rockstar feels the same way or we might not see Max Payne 3 for another couple of months.  For those who have been waiting for this game as long as I have would be devastated by another delay so I hope Rockstar remains confident in their product and gets it on store shelves May 15th.  Stay tuned for any changes to these release schedules and as always you can follow us on Twitter @GamersAbstract and like us on Facebook for more content.

Rockstar is launching a 5 part video series showcasing the various features of their upcoming shooter Max Payne 3.  This first video displays really how much of a powerhouse Max Payne 3 is under the hood.  They have almost accounted for every possible situation in a gun fight and programmed it into this game.  The amount of detail being put into this game is absolutely stunning and makes me wish I could hibernate until March so I can ease myself of the pain of having to wait.  We will post the newest entries as they become available, but for now enjoy this treat from Rockstar.  Stay tuned for more and as always you can follow us on Twitter @GamersAbstract and like us on Facebook for more content.

Where is Max Payne 3?

Dear Take Two & Rockstar, release the f$$king game already

The original release date for Max Payne 3 was winter 2009. (…………….crickets………………..)  So where is Max Payne 3 already?  Several images and details had surfaced for the game and it looked as if it were almost finished.  I keep reading news that Take Two Interactive is continually releasing details for new projects, but not mentioning Max Payne 3 whatsoever.  Is this game going to share the same fate as True Crime: Hong Kong?  No definite release window, money hemorrhaging out of every orifice, and then the game is deemed not worthy of a release.  I could give less than two shits about a new Spec Ops game (which will probably come out before Max Payne 3).  So give me MAX PAYNE ALREADY!!!!  I don’t know why Rockstar and Take Two are collectively waiting this long to release this game (something better be terribly wrong with the game), but something needs to give, like them giving us some details on when the game is being released.  I will hold out as long as needed for Max Payne 3, but when this game is released it really needs to be on the “OH FUCK I JUST SHIT MY PANTS’ level of awesomeness or I will be disappointed.
